We believe that it is important to take into
account some considerations about Naturism, because we are building
apartments in a zone classified as "NATURIST",
a life style which includes usually the practice of "NUDISM".
Though today this practice is generally accepted, it could be
interesting to make some well-known comments about it, which are
necessary for a better understanding of those who ignore this kind
of life style and could also be reaffirming for persons who are already
familiar with this healthy way to live.

The naturist movement,
and therefore the
practice of nudism, is part of a philosophy based on the
integration of individuals with the environment: sun, water,
nature as such. It is thought that this relation contributes
to the improvement of the general well-being of individuals
and of the collectivity, through a different way of being and a concept
of life based on tolerance, mutual respect and freedom.
For nudists, this practice is an experience
immensely liberating, which allows the perception of the body
as a whole, instead of splitting the body and then producing a
concept where some parts of our bodies are labeled as shaming and
as a source of
complexes for us. In a few words, this philosophy denounce as
no more than relative ideas the traditional conceptions of esthetics
or commercial success and proclaims the superiority of the esthetics
of nature and of the pure naked human skin.

These reasons should lead to conclude that Naturism
is a philosophy socially positive, that the International Federation
of Naturism defines as: "A way to live in harmony with
nature, characterized by the practice of communitarian nudity, with
the aim to promote self-esteem, mutual respect and respect for the
environment". It is a philosophy tolerant towards others and
only expects to receive the same treatment from others. Naturist
people tend to accept others as they are and without doubt this is
so because they accept their bodies as they are more easily than the rest of people.

Against some false opinions, the true naturists
promote a family environment. Children who grow in a naturist
environment see human changes
caused by pregnancy, ageing or maturity in a completely natural way, showing less anxiety
than non-naturist children before these natural processes
that we hide in our society through cultural patterns of
thought and behavior.
It is comforting to see how the acceptance
of this practice is rising every day, and how in the majority
of cultures, specially in Europe and other developed
countries, the practice of nudity is fully accepted in beaches
and other leisure places. In a great number of these countries
specific places for this practice can be found and in some it
is completely usual to find it in most of their beaches (as
Denmark or Sweden).

General acceptance of these arguments is leading to
an increase both in the number of Naturist Associations and of
naturist followers, being the outdoors activity with a higher
practice growth in the last years - up to twenty per cent of
annual increase - and
beginning to become a profitable industry for many countries
where Naturism has been given a proper place to be practiced.
